I select images from my sketchbooks of observations of the world around me, drawn wherever my attention has been caught, and work on them using printmaking techniques such as lino and screenprinting, building up layers of colour and texture. My personal response in drawing aims to capture the life and movement of the subject matter, plus moments in time, and to celebrate and draw attention to life in the natural world, particularly birds, as well as the sociable human one; to find out, to explore.
I studied Art and Design at Wimbledon School of Art and at Birmingham, specializing in Fine Art and taught for many years before coming to live in East Anglia where I joined the Gainsborough House Printworkshop, West Norfolk Artist Association where I have recently retired as Chair, as well as Artworks. Artist in residence with Liz Waugh McManus at St Jean Pied de Port, France August 2013.
