I am interested in intersections, crossing places, in those scenes where the earth is nothing more than a reflection of the sky; the edges of seas and shores, the salt marshes, the local fens all provide me with images in which to explore this notion of chance and change and reflection. As an artist, I also like the physical edges that form on the surface of my paintings, the unexpected marks that happen between one plane and another. It’s one of the reasons I like working with oil pastels, they are a very versatile medium and allow me to play and make marks instantly.

I studied graphic design at Canterbury College of Art, BA (Hons) and worked in design, publicity and book design in London until my young family and I went to live in Minnesota for seven years. While in America, I studied printing and fine art at St Olaf College, Northfield, MN.
Working as an artist is quite solitary and therefore I enjoy belonging to a number of art groups. I am a founder member of Artworks and each year also exhibit with Suffolk Open Studios, opening my studio to the public, Norfolk Arts at Burnham Overy Staithe, Norfolk, and Walsham-le-Willows Christmas Exhibition, Suffolk.
